Who Iron Grid Is
Iron Grid Studio ("Iron Grid") develops and operates Iron Grid Engine, a game engine currently available in alpha. This Privacy Policy explains what information Iron Grid collects, uses, discloses, and protects when you create an account, download, or use the Iron Grid Engine alpha, and how that information is handled. This policy will be revised as the product and its data practices evolve.
Effective date: October 3, 2026
Information Iron Grid Collects
When you create an Iron Grid account, Iron Grid collects:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your password, stored in hashed form by Iron Grid's authentication provider — Iron Grid never sees or stores your password in plain text
If you contact Iron Grid for alpha feedback or support, Iron Grid collects whatever information you choose to include in that message, such as your email address, bug reports, logs, screenshots, or clips.
How Iron Grid Uses Your Information
- To create and secure your account and authenticate you when you log in
- To gate and deliver alpha downloads to registered testers
- To send release updates and respond to feedback or support requests
- To diagnose bugs and improve the engine based on reported issues
Disclosure of Information
Iron Grid does not sell your personal information.
Iron Grid may disclose information:
- to service providers operating the platform
- when required by law
- to protect the rights, safety, or security of Iron Grid Studio or its users
Data Storage & Security
Account data is stored with a third-party authentication and database provider. Iron Grid uses industry-standard safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, password hashing through that provider, and restricted administrative access. As with any pre-release software, no method of storage or transmission is guaranteed to be completely secure.
Alpha Software Notice
Because Iron Grid Engine is in active alpha development, Iron Grid's data practices, storage providers, and this policy are subject to change as features (including any future analytics, cookies, or payment processing) are introduced. Iron Grid will update this page when that happens.
Alpha Telemetry
During alpha testing, Iron Grid may collect diagnostic information, crash reports, and user-submitted logs to identify bugs and improve stability. Where possible, diagnostic information is limited to technical data necessary for troubleshooting.
Optional Product Metrics
Product metrics are off by default. You can enable them in Engine Settings > Account > Profile. When enabled, Iron Grid records completed managed Smelty calls, their model, provider usage cost, and completion time, associated with your account, to understand usage and improve the product. These optional records do not include prompts, project files, images, API keys, or direct BYOK traffic.
You can turn product metrics off at any time in the same settings. Turning them off stops optional collection and deletes those optional records. Billing, usage-allowance, and security records needed to operate the service are kept separately and are not disabled by this choice.
Data Retention & Deletion
Iron Grid retains account information while your account remains active. Following a deletion request, Iron Grid will remove or anonymize personal information within a reasonable period unless legally required to retain certain records. To request deletion or a copy of your data, email legal@irongrid-studio.com.
Children's Privacy
Iron Grid Engine is not intended for children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
Iron Grid may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
